United We Stand

Today I was moved. I was moved by the diversity in the crowd at today's Chicago Rally for Immigration Reform.

I saw people of Korean decent, not to mention Japanese, Indian, Arabian, Mexican, South American, American, Polish, and on and on. The rally seemed like more of a gathering of nations. The wonderful part about this particular gathering of nations is that they were all there as one. To show an undying support for reform in the United States immigration laws.

The turn out may not have been what was expected, but it was enough. The weather did not cooperate, I'm sure the swine flu did not help influence the more people to partake, but many still came. It was filled with great energy. Along the way I meet new friends, of course. This Immigration Rally will be one to top (in terms of energy). This tight niche group of people had nothing but love to show to an aggressive, in your face, photographer like me. As the rain came in we stuck with it. kk

I will say that the town of Waukegan had a true show of force at the rally. Theirs' is a true Cinderella story. Hispanics in Waukegan will suffer no more persecution from a Mayor they say enacted laws against immigrants.

Way to go people. Special thanks to Salome from Rainbow Push Coalition.
